doubloon 9 carat earrings
A gold flower inspired by ancient coins I saw on St Helena island, where we stopped on our sail across the Atlantic Ocean, inspired these earrings. I made myself a pair when we arrived in Brazil after our very first ocean crossing and I wore them everyday for the rest of the trip to Polynesia in the South Pacific.
Each gold flower is made individually by melting down recycled gold in a process that makes each one slightly different and unique. The organic texture is reminiscent of hand struck ancient coins and I used the floral motif on Spanish gold doubloons as inspiration.
Length of earring around 1.5cm. Solid 9 carat recycled yellow gold.
Handmade in Australia, we ship worldwide by trackable airmail.
