shipwreck treasure carnelian trading bead pendant with diamond
This carnelian trading bead has been in the ocean for over 400 years and shows the marks of the wild Indian ocean. Washed up on an east african beach it is testament to the brave portuguese seafarers who adventured to the east to bring treasures back to europe. Carnelian beads were widely used for trade in Africa at the time and were traditionally hand cut beads in a lozenge shape.
Set in solid 18 carat yellow gold with a diamond sun spangle, each bead is one of a kind.
